Madagascar Teals wade for food instead of diving to the bottom of the pond or lake. They are called “dabbling ducks” because of the way they sift their food.
Madagascar Teals are threatened throughout their home range by the mass destruction of Madagascar’s wetlands, along with having fallen victim to hunting.
You can see Madagascar Teals in the duck pond.
