Monkeys, Magic and More

Monkeys, Magic and More is a new advancement that will add eye-catching appeal to the entrance of the Zoo and replace 45-year-old infrastructure that had outlived its usefulness.

The Monkeys, Magic and More project will:

  • Feature an exciting, new Snow Monkey exhibit at the front of the Zoo with summer and winter viewing opportunities.
  • Create a new greeting plaza for Zoo guests, and create a summer pond for outdoor flamingo viewing.
  • Add “curb appeal” by reshaping the entrance to the Zoo with a new, engaging entrance viewable from Kiwanis Avenue.
  • Help the Zoo better manage an increased attendance of nearly 250,000 annual visitors.
  • Enhance the Museum building with additional education classrooms, better gift shop access, and improved member and guest processing.

These innovative plans are part of the Zoo’s Master Plan of needed improvements. The Master Plan sets out enhancements for the next decade of the Zoo’s life, and was developed using strategic planning both in facilities and business forecasting.
