Come discover the amazing patterns of the animal kingdom! This parent and child class will include a variety of learning activities for infants and toddlers, including stories, simple activities, a Zoo exhibit visit, and an animal visitor. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM.

Family Programs

Education of the natural world is vital. The Great Plains Zoo is committed to providing a fun as well as educational experience for all our guests. Our Education crew offers additional programming that focuses on interaction and education with animals from our team of experienced professionals!

Family Program Package

Add an expert to your next visit to the Zoo! Our Family Program Package includes a 60-minute guided tour of several of our animal exhibits, with in-depth animal information and animal artifacts! The tour will be followed by a 30-minute encounter with two of our Ambassador Animals, including a chance to touch at least one of them.

This program is appropriate for groups of all ages, but your group must include at least one adult. Please note that the tour is in public areas only and does not include behind-the-scenes access.

Homeschool Program Package

Add an educational adventure to your next visit to the Zoo! Our Homeschool program package includes a 60-minute guided tour of several of our animal exhibits, with in-depth animal information and animal artifacts! At the conclusion of the program, we will provide you with a take-home packet to continue your learning at home!

We have three topics for you to choose from: Animal Habitats, Wildlife Conservation, and Zoo Careers!
