Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium’s snow leopard cub is ready to start exploring. Starting this week, the cub and mom Denali will have access to the snow leopard exhibit at the Great Plains Zoo habitat. It will be up to them whether they choose to go out, or if they want to stay behind the scenes.*

We appreciate your patience while we work with the cub to reach this next big milestone!
The female cub was born in late May to first-time parents Denali and Strut. She is healthy and rambunctious – and has already stolen the hearts of her care team.
On days when Denali and the cub stay behind the scenes, look for Strut in the snow leopard habitat. Like in the wild, snow leopard fathers are not involved in the rearing of cubs, so he will be alternating access to the exhibit with the girls.
*Please note: While Denali and the cub continue to explore and get used to being on exhibit, they will have access Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. They will also have access to their behind-the-scenes exhibit, and may choose to spend time out of the public eye on these days. Strut will be on exhibit Saturdays and Sundays.
Stay tuned for more adorable updates as our little explorer acclimates!
